MT Hood Slopes

Mount Hood, the tallest mountain in Oregon, is a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding. Offering a variety of ski resorts and over 11 miles of terrain that caters to every skill level, we guarantee a snow-tastic experience on the slopes!

Here is some helpful information about ski resorts in the Mt. Hood area:

Timberline Lodge and Ski Area

Timberline Lodge is one of the most iconic ski areas on Mount Hood. The lodge itself is a historic building built in 1937 and is situated near the timberline on the southern flank of the mountain.

Timberline offers year-round skiing, thanks to the Palmer Snowfield, which is open even in the summer. During the winter, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy a variety of terrain, including groomed runs and challenging slopes.

Mount Hood Meadows

Mount Hood Meadows is a larger ski resort with diverse terrain suitable for all skill levels. It is located on the east side of Mount Hood.

The resort has a mix of groomed runs, glades, and challenging bowls. There are also terrain parks for snowboarders and freestyle skiers. Mount Hood Meadows typically has a longer season, running from late fall to late spring.

Ski Bowl

Mount Hood Skibowl is another popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts. It is located on the southern side of Mount Hood and offers a range of activities beyond skiing, including snow tubing and night skiing.

Skibowl has a variety of runs, and its proximity to Portland makes it a convenient option for day trips.

Cooper Spur Mountain Resort

Cooper Spur is a family-friendly resort on the northeastern side of Mount Hood, known for its laid-back atmosphere and beautiful views. While smaller than some other resorts, Cooper Spur offers a range of terrain, making it suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers.

Please note: Due to a lack of snow Cooper Spur Ski Area is currently closed. For daily updates and live view of the ski area, please visit their Conditions Report page.

Before planning a skiing trip to Mount Hood, it’s advisable to check the current snow conditions, weather forecasts, and resort information.
