PLEASE NOTE: DURING FALL AND WINTER 4 WHEEL DRIVE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. This driveway is quite steep and can become slick in the winter.

Though you’re five minutes from Lincoln City, you’ll be worlds away in this rustic, mountain-top cabin above Devils Lake. You’ll pass through a locked gate and travel a two-track woodland road and straight up a coastal foothill driveway to the cabin, so the trek itself is an adventure. Once there, you’ll marvel at the ancient Spruce trees hugging The Beanstalk, and spy trails leading to the woodlands and meadow of the large surrounding tract of land that’s yours to explore. But it’s the surreal view of Devils Lake and the ocean beyond that will reveal the ultimate magic of this unique stay—a sliding door in the living room takes you to an expansive fenced deck suspended above the trees so you can listen to the silence, wind, and birds, and watch the sun sparkle on the lake. Indoors, you can relax on the queen futon sofa sleeper in front of the woodstove or dine from the fully equipped kitchen at the table or counter seating. The cedar plank ceiling and wood walls sound a cozy, rustic note, while the media room with its sectional sofa, large flat screen TV/DVD and library of books, puzzles and games assure you’re in the 21st century. Upstairs you’ll find two snug, wood-lined bedrooms under the high gambrel roofline, one a queen with a balcony and lake/ocean view and one with two twin beds. Spend your days exploring the beaches and activities of the Central Coast, then retreat to your own alpine cabin to watch the sunset over the lake and the stars twinkle in a velvet sky.

The view is incredible and worth the trip alone! The house itself is cozy and spacious, with a lovely wood stove and comfy beds. The upstairs bath has a window looking out into the woods, which makes for the perfect spot to soak and relax. The driveway wasn't nearly as tricky as we expected; in fact, the steep climb at the end is worth the isolation. We didn't have any close neighbors to worry about, and it truly felt like we were tucked away from the rest of the world. We'd definitely come back someday!

The Beanstalk was the perfect getaway; Beautifully secluded and immersed in nature. There’s a wood stove for a warm homey touch, lots of games and puzzles for technology fun, and a variety of movies to play on the DVD/Blu-ray player if you want to snuggle on the couch. The house was stalked with all the things we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. (I would recommend to bring extra pillows if you have a specific pillow preference or like a lot of pillows) This home was the perfect place to stay, and I would definitely recommend it!

This place is great! The location and views are amazing. The place was fully stocked with all necessary kitchen appliances to stay in and cook a meal. The separate living room has tons of games and netflix, so it was also great for staying in and having fun. The WiFi worked great. We were a little concerned about the steep driveway described in the listing since we do not have AWD, but the driveway is paved so even though it was raining our car made it up just fine. There really is just a short steep part near the top. The check-in was very easy. Would definitely stay there again!

We loved our family trip to the cabin during Labor Day! It was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries, close to the beach and all the stores. We had everything we needed to prepare meals and enjoy them out on the deck with the most amazing view. It was also great to be able to take the pups on a hike from the cabin. Our last night of our stay there was a power outage, luckily a bin provided batteries, flashlights and a headlamp so we could navigate around. This made checking out a challenge, we reached out to Meredith Lodging and they were very understanding and helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here, we loved it!!!

My partner and I had a lovely stay at this cabin. The views are breathtaking and we loved having dinners on the deck while watching the sunset. It is very secluded, and feels as if you may be the only people out in the woods. We loved the tranquility and peacefulness this cabin offered. We truly enjoyed our little getaway in this cabin and it was just what we needed. We highly recommend it and would love to be back!

Bird watchers paradise

The beanstalk most definitely holds up to its name. Provides a view of D lake, the ocean as well as the mountains. This is the perfect quiet getaway and you are still only 10-15 minutes away from every convenience in Lincoln City. I am pretty sure there is a close by eagles nest, we had an eagle siting every day. I would consider this a quiet bird watchers paradise. This home provides amble linens, kitchen supplies and even a few extras to make your vacation the most enjoyable. Cleaning staff did a wonderful job ensuring the home was nice and clean for our arrival. We can’t wait to come back and visit again
