A steam train ride on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad will loop you along the coast to Garibaldi and back. You’ll be happy to return to the private front porch of On the Rocks, a completely remodeled classic Oregon cottage with a fenced yard and fire pit. Sparkling finishes and décor welcome you to the living room’s plush contemporary furnishings, a gas fireplace and a large TV. Kick up your feet and relax with your family playing board games and creating beautiful puzzles. Dine in the breakfast nook in the pretty kitchen, which includes a washer/dryer, or eat at the picnic table outdoors. A main-level bedroom is supplemented by two sweet bedrooms under the eaves upstairs, one with four twin beds for the ultimate sleepover space. Rockaway’s expansive beach has been a vacation destination for over 100 years, and you’ll see why as you enjoy miles of level sandy beach and the inland lake perfect for kayaking and fishing. Drive north to explore the rest of Oregon’s North Coast: you’ll find hiking, beachcombing, exceptional dining, art galleries, and loads of activities for the whole family.
