Explore the Deschutes River Trail. This most-loved hiking trail winds its way through MBV (Mt. Bachelor Village), so you couldn’t be closer! Miles of beauty awaits you along this nature trail that runs alongside the Deschutes from Bend to Sunriver! Keep your eyes open for sightings of deer, hawks and osprey and marvel at the Maple, Ponderosa Pines and Aspen trees – in the Fall, you will feel they are putting on a color show just for you!

Get the wiggles out at a nearby park. You won’t have to venture far, as the resort offers an on-property playground adjacent to the pool. The kids will love the swings, slides, and play structure.

Looking to venture out? Head to Nearby Drake Park. This park is a local favorite with good reason, featuring a half mile of riverfront, acres of open green space, stunning views reflected over Mirror Pond, and picnic tables for visitors to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Fire pits & s’mores at MBVR. Kids and adults alike love to spend time at the outdoor fire pit located by the lobby. The kiddos love to make s’mores (supplies available for purchase in the lobby!) and the grown-ups love to relax in our comfortable Adirondack chairs with a glass of wine by the fire!

Access to the pool is seasonal, so we encourage you to confirm availability before booking.

The Athletic Club of Bend is a full-service athletic club with indoor and outdoor fitness facilities, featuring 7 indoor tennis courts, an indoor running track, indoor and outdoor pools, several cardio areas, weight room, and basketball court as well as 4 racquetball/squash courts and full-service pro shop.

Cruise around Bend in style. One of the favorite amenities, hands-down, is the fleet of Dutch-style cruiser bikes available for the whole family! The Mt. Bachelor Village by Meredith Lodging bikes are available (along with locks and helmets) free of charge! Ride them down to The Old Mill every day and, in the evenings, let the kids explore on the bikes around the property while you relax by the fire pit. We also have snowshoes and poles, too. And if you are lucky enough to be at MBV when the snow falls, check with our front desk about sleds and snowman building kits!

Lunch with a view. Anthony’s at the Old Mill District sits alongside the Deschutes River providing the quintessential PNW dining experience. Playtime at Mt. Bachelor Ski and Recreation Area. Mt. Bachelor is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise offering world-class skiing and snowboarding from November well into spring. The mountain also offers amazing recreation opportunities seasonally, including mountain biking, scenic chair life rides, snow tubing, hiking, exhilarating zip line rides, snow shoeing, and even dog sledding!

Paddle on the Deschutes River. The Deschutes River is one of the most spectacular rivers in the Central Oregon region. A memorable way to experience it is from a kayak, canoe, paddleboard, or float. Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe carries a full selection of rental gear and offers rentals, classes, kid programs, and guided tours.

Hit the trails in town. Looking for a great “in town” hike? Head to Shevlin Park. This beloved nature park takes you on a 6-mile loop trail through old-growth Ponderosa pine and high desert sage-covered terrain. Good for all skills levels. Leashed pups allowed.

Enjoy some pedal time at the Old Mill. Take the whole family out for a fun-filled cruise along the Deschutes River Trail. Wheel Fun Rentals offers a wide selection of bikes for rent – from multi-speed tandems to electric bikes to 8 passenger surreys.

See live music in one of Oregon’s most-loved amphitheaters. The Les Schwab Ampitheater (LSA) is an outdoor amphitheater located in the Old Mill District along the dreamy Deschutes River. Free parking, plenty of food and drink vendors to choose from, the ability to bring in lawn chairs & blankets for most concerts, and river and mountain backdrops, makes this an ideal music venue.
