Explore the Deschutes River Trail. This most-loved hiking trail winds its way through MBV (Mt. Bachelor Village), so you couldn’t be closer! Miles of beauty awaits you along this nature trail that runs alongside the Deschutes from Bend to Sunriver! Keep your eyes open for sightings of deer, hawks and osprey and marvel at the Maple, Ponderosa Pines and Aspen trees – in the Fall, you will feel they are putting on a color show just for you! Get the wiggles out at a nearby park. You won’t have to venture far, as the resort offers an on-property playground adjacent to the pool. The kids will love the swings, slides, and play structure. Looking to venture out? Head to Nearby Drake Park. This park is a local favorite with good reason, featuring a half mile of riverfront, acres of open green space, stunning views reflected over Mirror Pond, and picnic tables for visitors to relax and enjoy the scenery. Fire pits & s’mores at MBVR. Kids and adults alike love to spend time at the outdoor fire pit located by the lobby. Paddle on the Deschutes River. The Deschutes River is one of the most spectacular rivers in the Central Oregon region. A memorable way to experience it is from a kayak, canoe, paddleboard, or float. Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe carries a full selection of rental gear and offers rentals, classes, kid programs, and guided tours. Hit the trails in town. Looking for a great “in town” hike? Head to Shevlin Park. This beloved nature park takes you on a 6-mile loop trail through old-growth Ponderosa pine and high desert sage-covered terrain. Good for all skills levels. Leashed pups allowed. Enjoy some pedal time at the Old Mill. Take the whole family out for a fun-filled cruise along the Deschutes River Trail. The Les Schwab Ampitheater (LSA) is an outdoor amphitheater located in the Old Mill District along the dreamy Deschutes River.
