Mt. Bachelor

There’s fun for the whole family up at Mt. Bachelor! From skiing and snowboarding to cross country skiing and sledding, inner tube hills and snowshoe trails, there really is a way for everyone in your crew to have the perfect snow day. Looking to add a little extra adventure to your day on the mountain? Check out the options to ski with a forest service ranger or go on a sled dog ride. After a day of playing in the snow you will love hanging out in the lodge to warm up with food and drink.

Go on a Snowshoeing Adventure

Snow-shoeing is something that adventure-lovers  of all ages and abilities can enjoy, and there is no shortage of opportunities to go exploring in Bend and Sunriver! If you are a guest of Meredith Lodging staying at Mt. Bachelor Village, you can check out complimentary snowshoes and poles from the front desk and hit the Deschutes River Trail. If you are new to snowshoeing and would like a little more guidance, head out on an adventure with our friends at Wanderlust Tours. They have lots of options to get you out and about in beautiful settings in and around Bend and Sunriver!

Winter Tubing Hill the SHARC

Staying with Meredith Lodging in Sunriver? Sunriver has had tons of snow already this year which means the tubing hill at the SHARC is up and running! We love to take the whole family for an afternoon of hillside fun and then head to The Village for hot chocolate and sweet treats from  Hot Lava Baking Company. Inner tubes are included with the price of admission at the SHARC. Be sure to check out the SHARC’s Black Light Blast  runs…they are illuminated with black lights and glow sticks!! No snow? No problem! In fair weather the tubing hill is outfitted with NevePlast, which means you can enjoy downhill fun with or without snow.

Deschutes River Trail

The Deschutes River Trail is a local favorite activity any time of year and can be especially pretty in the winter months when the trails are blanketed with new fallen snow and the rush of the river takes on an even more beautiful sound. Hike, snowshoe and take in all the beauty of The Deschutes in Winter. In the mood for an urban adventure? Follow the trail to where it lets off in the Old Mill District and end your adventure by exploring local Bend shops and restaurants.

Favorite Après Snow Day Warm-up Spots

No matter where your snow day takes you, once you are done with your outdoor fun you will likely be looking for a way to get inside and warm-up, ideally with local food and drink. Hitting the tubing hill in Sunriver? Warm up after with award-winning craft beer and great food at  Sunriver Brewing Company’s pub in Sunriver.  This family-friendly location is a hit with locals, and it is easy to see why! Walking the Deschutes River Trail? End your walk at The Old Mill District and stop in  Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzeria. Nothing warms you up like delicious Italian food and at Flatbread, the kids can even make their own custom pizza. Pastas, salads, and sandwiches round out the menu, but most people come for the pizza.
