Looking for something a little more upscale, yet still casual? The Open Door features daily specials highlighting seasonal and local products paired with a thoughtfully curated wine list. Visiting on a Tuesday? Head to Rancho Viejo for traditional tacos and delicious margaritas enjoyed on their outdoor patio.

Hit the Saddle

Imagine riding on trails through ponderosa pines with views of the Cascades? Black Butte Stables offers several guided rides for guests 7 years of age and older, year-round. All experience levels are welcome. They also offer customized private rides – ideal for a special occasion, family or team building activity. They only take reservations up to one week in advance. Call for availability, prices, and operating hours – 541.595.2061.

Long Hollow Ranch offers guided tours for riders 9 years of age and older. To book, contact the ranch at 541.923.1901. Rides should be arranged a minimum of 24 hours in advance to ensure they can accommodate you. Trail rides are 1 1/2 – 2 hours, $125.

Head to the Mountain

Ready to hit the slopes? Just 25 minutes away by car, awaits Hoodoo Ski Area. Boasting more than 800 skiable acres, along with an average annual snowfall of 450 inches, Hoodoo is a great local option for a fun-filled day on the mountain.

Tee Off

300 days of sunshine and stunning fairways, make every day a great day to hit the links Black Butte Ranch offers two award-winning golf courses and a new putting course at the foot of the majestic Cascades. Another option is the 18-hole, par 72 course at Aspen Lakes Golf Course. This family-owned, public course boasts breathtaking views, signature red sand bunkers, and world-class staff.

Shop and Stroll the Strip

The downtown strip in Sisters will make you feel like you are walking straight onto the set of a classic cowboy Western. Play the part and swing by Baldwin’s Custom Hat & Boot Co. for custom made hats and boots. Dixie’s also carries high-quality western apparel as well as home goods, while Faveur carries a thoughtfully curated selection of fashionable finds.

Hike the Trails

Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, Sisters is an amazing place to go for a hike. For a more moderate hike, try the out-and-back 4.7-mile Whychus Creek Falls Trail. Travelling with your favorite four-legged friend? Leashed pups are welcome on the 5.3-mile out-and-back Tam McArthur Rim Trail or the 5.1-mile loop Moraine Lake Trail. Looking for more of a challenge? Head to South Sister Trail. Leashed pups can join you on this 11.6-mile out-and-back trek.
